Founder and CEO
Rhett Bennett has served as CEO of Black Mountain since its inception. With a growing supply constraint in the Permian Basin, Rhett built the Black Mountain Sand business to satisfy a void in the market for a high quality, cost-effective regional frac sand.
Rhett began his career in oil and gas in December 2004, starting as the Acquisitions Manager of Cascade Energy LP in Dallas, Texas. In early 2007, he founded Black Mountain Royalty LP and Black Mountain Exploration LP. In 2011, Mr. Bennett founded Black Mountain Land Company LLC and Black Mountain SWD LP, to create value as an early mover in the real estate and service sectors of the oil and gas industry in emerging resource plays.
Rhett Bennett earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Georgia in 2003, and completed the Energy Executive Management Program at the University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business in 2012.
Mr. Bennett is a member of many industry organizations, including the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association, the National Association of Royalty Owners, the Fort Worth Petroleum Club, the American Association of Professional Landmen, and Young Professionals in Energy.
