Bakken Crude Oil Production by Year Chart 2007-2017

This chart depicts crude oil production in the US portion of the Bakken Shale area from 2007 through 2017.

The dramatic increase in production was a direct result of advances in hydraulic fracturing technology.

Crude oil production in the US Bakken went from averaging 138,072 barrels per day in 2007 to peak in 2015 at 1,212,580 barrels per day.
